Donnette,
I do not think that any words can do your work justice. You are truly amazing! When working with you, my experience seemed too good to be true. I would contact you and any request I had you made it a reality. During the initial planning of our wedding my (now) husband and I chose to have a destination wedding. Planning a wedding is hard enough on its own; never mind trying to plan a wedding from another country. We found this process to be worrisome because we had no idea who we were talking to or what to expect, but Donnette ensured us that we would have the wedding of our dreams and that is exactly what she provided.
We contacted Donnette, via her website and informed her that we would be taking a Carnival Cruise and were interested in having our wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Along with the basic questions regarding pricing and accommodations, I had a million other questions and concerns. This was my day and I wanted it to be perfect. I was so excited and remember checking my email every two seconds for a response. Donnette did not have me waiting long and answered my long (very long) email within minutes. We set a date and the planning began. I like most brides knew what I wanted. I would call Donnette every week with something new and she would say “Okay”, anything I wanted she provided and if she did not provide it she found a way to offer it to us. About a week before the wedding she sent me an email verifying everything that we had discussed over the past months and she had not missed a thing. I was amazed!
The day before we were leaving for our cruise/wedding, hurricane advisories were on every news station. I had heard that rain on your wedding day was “good luck” so a hurricane on our wedding day could either mean all the luck in the world or disaster. Hurricane Isaac came and it seemed as though my day was heading straight for disaster. When we arrived to the embarking station we were informed that our cruise had to make adjustments and that our stops had been switched. We planned on being in Ocho Rios on August 27th, but because of the storm we would not arrive to Ocho Rios until the August 28th. I went into a panic and called Donnette. She immediately calmed me down and reassured me that everything was going to be okay.
On August 28th 2012, we arrived in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on Carnival Cruise Ship Destiny. One of the requests I had for Donnette was that my husband and I did not ride in the same car. I did not want to see him before the wedding, so she sent two cars. My husband was to be picked up before me. I forgot to tell him that the ships time was an hour behind Jamaican time so my husband and the other men with him went out an hour early. Despite them being early their car was still waiting for them. Donnette had the driver (Pablo) give them a tour of Jamaica. My husband says that the sightseeing and Pablo were some of his favorite parts of the trip.
I was picked up after my husband and was greeted by Donnette. She was so sweet! She drove the girls and I to our beach destination and when I saw where I was to be married I was in “AWE” I could not believe how gorgeous it was. My wedding was better than I ever could have imagined. Everything was perfect.
Thank you so much Donnette for everything that you did for my family, husband, and myself. Donnette, you are amazing and great at what you do. You provided the wedding of my dreams and a great experience. I was married in the middle of a hurricane and you still made sure my special day went smoothly. You are so talented and everything looked gorgeous! We look forward to visiting you in the future!
